Exploring new formats for the Channel

So far this year, I've made 7 videos, (technically 8 if we count the 4-year celebration but to me the anniversary videos are more markers of the passage of time rather than actual content) Of which the 7 videos were:

Minecraft Episode 11 : WHERE IS ANYTHING?!! The first video on my survival series in just under 4 years. It wasn't anything special, but it was the start of complete independence from my usual editor, AKA_gamersensi.

This is a bit of a behind the curtain reveal of what's been going on, but for over a year now the video known internally as "Blindcraft" has been in production solely edited by AKA with no external input or output. Meaning, I also have no idea what he's been doing with it. This has pushed me to really learn how to properly edit, and design thumbnails. Because from 24 Oct 2020 (I HAVE A MINECRAFT SERVER (SMP)) to 5 Feb 2023 (Minecraft, But Dying Spawns a Wither) AKA had been the main channel editor, having edited and made thumbnails for 95% ish of the content uploaded. So when blindcraft went into production around September time (Primary filming occurring from 23/08/23 to 22/09/23), the unavailability of AKA to edit forced me to start learning the ropes and to make better videos. We see the seed of in (I forced A PLAYER from my server to PROTECT this), which I'm pretty sure has my best thumbnail to date on it. Blindcraft should be coming out late this year, probably December time, but before that I'm working on my next magnum opus...

Why Minecraft Will NEVER Die - The 100 Year Game

Which aims to use the techniques and ideas I learned while primarily editing Miserable 4 (How I Beat Minecraft's Most Miserable Skyblock Map) which took nearly 4 months to produce, and is by far my most edited video. Most edited does not necessarily mean good, there are good parts of the video, but ultimately I think it could have been vastly better.

The other video ideas I tried to include a Markiplier esc gameplay type video with more minimal editing of this obscure indi-game Lorn's Lure. A game I'd had my eyes on for quite a while, so I played the demo (GOING DOWN | Lorn's Lure (Demo))

And a Minecraft Cinematic me and Adisimus worked on together, which for whatever reason happened to have a similar location and landscape to another YouTube video (now taken down), but different plot. I'm quite proud on how it turned out, as it was a completely different type of recording and film style than what I'm used to. (HOT SOUP | Minecraft Cinematic)

Ultimately, at the end of the day this is my channel, and I'm going to upload stuff I find interesting and fun to make, and stuff that I genuinely want to work on. However, it seems the audience I cultivated during the TBN era (the one that initially grew my channel in the first place) longs for the server and really wants me to return to that sort of SMP content, which I really don't want to do.

So for now I'll just keep making fun videos and see where it takes me, maybe I can even meet my stretch goal of 12 videos in a year! I'm at 7 the same amount I made last year, and with at least two more videos on the way it's only up from here.
